Casts of Las Vegas Shows Schedule Benefit Concert for Homeless Families

(LAS VEGAS) Members of the casts of "Mamma Mia!" and "Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular" will present "God Lives in Glass" November 11 to benefit Family Promise, a local non-profit organization that assists Las Vegas homeless families.

"God Lives in Glass" presents 16 songs from rap to reggae to pop to gospel, representing Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Islam and other diverse faiths from around the world. The performance will be staged Saturday, November 11, at 2 PM at Community Lutheran Church, 2720 E. Tropicana Ave. A minimum donation of $30 per ticket benefits Family Promise of Las Vegas, a local non-profit organization that helps homeless families get off the streets, find employment and move back into their homes.

The theatrical concert is based on the book, "God Lives in Glass," by Robert J. Landy, Ph.D., an NYU drama therapy professor who interviewed children from around the world about their perceptions of God. Composer Keith Thompson, who recently moved to Las Vegas as musical director of "We Will Rock You" and "Hairspray," worked with Landy and Greg Ganakas to adapt the book into a musical revue.

Cast members from "Phantom" and "Mamma Mia!" have donated their time and talents to present the benefit performance. Some of the actors who are participating include:

- Brent Barrett, star of "Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular"
- Rebecca Spencer, co-star of "Phantom," playing Madame Giry
- Tina Walsh who premiered the role of Donna in the Las Vegas production of
"Mamma Mia!"
