Kohl's Supports its Stores' Communities
In keeping with its longstanding tradition of supporting the communities served by its stores, Kohl's has made a commitment to Las Vegas through its Kohl's Cares for Kids program which is focused on improving the lives of children.
In Las Vegas, Kohl's has a partnership with Sunrise Children's Foundation, which is a beneficiary of local Kohl's Cares for Kids fund-raising efforts. Throughout the year, Kohl's sells special Kohl's Cares for Kids merchandise, with 100 percent of the net profit supporting health and educational opportunities for children. Since 2000, Kohl's has donated nearly $60 million to children’s hospitals nationwide.
The Kohl's Cares for Kids® philanthropic program is made up of four elements:
Kohl's Cares for Kids® Children's Hospital Program, in which Kohl's partners with children's hospitals coast-to-coast to help children lead healthier lives. To support this effort, Kohl's has donated millions of dollars to a host of community outreach initiatives that affect the lives of children and their families, including: injury prevention; immunization; mobile health units; diabetes and asthma education programs; and healthy eating and obesity education programs. Currently, the Kohl's Cares for Kids program supports 127 children’s hospitals nationwide.
Kohl's Kids Who Care® Scholarship Program, an annual program that recognizes and rewards youths for volunteering. Deserving youths are recognized at three levels – store, regional and national.
Kohl's A-Team, an associate volunteer program in which at least five associates from the same store volunteer at a child-focused nonprofit organization for at least three hours each. In support of its associate volunteer efforts, Kohl's provides the nonprofit with a $500 corporate grant.
Kohl's Cares for Kids® Fundraising Card Program, a program for nonprofits to raise money. Organizations can purchase gift cards in dominations of $10, $25, $50 and $100 and then sell them for face value.
