Bank of Nevada Opens Headquarters

Bank of Nevada recently held a grand opening celebration for its corporate headquarters building on West Flamingo Road in Las Vegas. The locally owned and operated bank, capitalized at more than $8 million, has been operating since October 2000 in a temporary facility. The new two-story, 11,000-square-foot headquarters building also houses a bank branch with teller stations at which customers sit in comfortable chairs to transact their business. Juliet Company was the general contractor for the building, RAFI performed architectural services and Fielden & Partners designed the interior. The bank offers a complete line of financial services, loans (including SBA loans), on-line banking, lines of credit and courier service for merchants.

Fallon To Develop Business Park

The city of Fallon recently received a $1.7 million federal grant to help develop the New River Business Park. The grant from the Federal Economic Development Administration provides funding for infrastructure at the site, including water and sewer service and access roads. Work on infrastructure is expected to start during the second quarter. The 42-acre site is located off Harrigan Road, close to the intersection of I-95 and I-50. Shirley Walker of the Churchill Economic Development Authority said the business park will be marketed to a variety of companies, including light manufacturing and light industry. One potential tenant is Gemini Inc., which is expected to purchase six acres at the New River Business Park in order to expand its signage operation, which is adjacent to the site.

Stephanie Promenade Completes Phase I

Henderson-based Burnett Haase Construction recently announced the completion of Phase I in the Stephanie Promenade, a 14-acre retail/professional center in Henderson. The site is located at Stephanie Road and American Pacific Drive, with immediate access to I-515 and the 215 Beltway. Phase I, which broke ground last summer, consists of 15,000 square feet of junior anchor tenant space and 29,000 square feet of in-line retail space. Construction costs for this phase of the project are estimated at $2.3 million. At build-out, Stephanie Promenade will consist of approximately 45,000 square feet of in-line retail space, 55,000 square feet of junior anchor space and four retail pad sites. Business Property Group served as developer of the project, and Nick Levantis of Burnett Haase served as designer and project manager

Roche to Build New High School

The Las Vegas office of Roche Constructors, Inc. has been awarded a contract to construct a new 300,000-square-foot high school at Buffalo Drive and Twain Avenue in southwest Las Vegas. The school, which has not yet been named, is scheduled for completion in August 2003. It was designed by Tate Snyder Kimsey Architects. The $38 million facility is the 14th project awarded to Roche by the Clark County School District since 1996. Other current projects include the $9.6 million Howard E. Heckelthorn Elementary School, scheduled for completion this month, and the $9.9 million J. Marlan Walker Elementary School, which should be finished in time for classes in September. Roche recently completed the $10 million North Campus Parking Facility for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The four-level, 1,600-car, precast concrete structure is located just north of Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall on campus.

SR Construction to Build Summerlin Park

SR Construction has been awarded a contract for the construction of the Village 18 – NP3 Park in the Ridges, on Ridge Hollow Drive and Ridge Brook Road in the master-planned community of Summerlin. Construction costs for the six-acre park are estimated at $1.25 million. The park will include a tennis court, basketball court, restroom building, playground area, water spray features and picnic area. The project broke ground on January 15 and is scheduled for completion in May. Ric Rowlatt is serving as project manager for the park and Tony Timmons is the project superintendent.
