Considerations for year-end taxes and planning
We've all had experiences where something slipped through the cracks when we weren't paying attention. So, to help keep your financial house in order, I'll share several year-end tax and planning considerations to review with your advisors. There is much uncertainty regarding tax legislation, especially after 2010, when some of the tax reduction provisions expire. It's hard to believe that the Obama administration and Congress won't press for higher taxes to pay for budget deficits, bailouts/stimuli and support Medicare and Social Security. State and local governments might also seek higher revenues. You might have decisions to make.
